Soo I wasn’t a student, but I did do a two week exchange with my towns sister city, and we visited the schools and stuff. The experience greatly differs, but I couldn’t have asked for a better host family. They were really really kind and made sure I never felt excluded and went above and beyond to make sure I had the best time. It does get a bit awkward sometimes, but if you’re truly interested I think it’s a great experience! There’s just so much you can takeaway from any cultural exchange really, but for me I think the biggest takeaway was how fast you can make lasting connections with ppl :). If you can, I’d definitely recommend going to a small town rather than a big city (just bc it’s a unique experience + different perspectives), but I’m sure you’ll takeaway a lot from either

you will get used to everything pretty quickly at least in my experience! just make sure to communicate as best as you can so things aren't awkward and so there aren't any misunderstandings.. host families can be really fun if you let that connection and understanding grow 🙂↕️
