@chumpygames: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Talia as Artist. This video tries to understand the narrative significance of cinema in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which is presented as an art form whose importance cannot be replaced by BDs. To understand this question, we need to first investigate Talia’s relationship to Roman. We must ask why Talia was so pleased at the footage that Roman captured of her on his camera when they first met. For Talia’s satisfaction is precisely the satisfaction that cinema provides, which the BD cannot replace. #anime #cyberpunkedgerunners #cyberpunk2077

This is weird to say, but genuinely, thank you for being so literate 😭 You talk really eloquently and you express stuff so naturally as if it there was some kind of logical procedure behind it. It's so refreshing whenever you appear on my fyp and I just wish you got million views on each video you make man

Ptolemy :

when she's running on the dock thats a devil man crybaby reference right?

Da-zaza :

also Roman is her first time talking to someone around her age. based on the flashbacks we saw she was imprisoned in that hospital all of her childhood

the moment I realized the weakness of my own flesh, it disgusted me

Chumpy :

I made this video bc I was trying to understand why ‘2D cinema’ is so important to the narrative and I felt like the way to answer the question was to ask ‘why is it important to Talia’

Her design is so good that it makes me want to watch the show 😭

Groobssss :

When Talia tries out her new cyberware in ep1 it definitely showcased probably some some form personal freedom and expression. That spoke to Roman, like D’s smile, he probably saw her being at her happiest in that moment. His continued interest in her definitely stems from this but also the fact that she’s most likely the first person to express interest in his given art form of film and video. Compared to someone like D who most likely never saw Romans videos as more than a tool to further his own path of revenge, Talia genuinely admires it and wants Roman to keep filming her and to keep the medium alive. (I don’t think that when s2 was being made that genai was one of the thing that the show was trying to critique intentionally, but I can’t help but feel like there are parallels between bd’s and gen ai)

From being bound on wheelchair with no restraints, to being able to go wherever she wants — even the sky.

charly :

To point the camera requires intent. BDs simply record events, they can’t ‘say’ anything

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloweekend

when youre scrolling and a chumpy video drops so you sit your ass down and listen

Resonata :

This is a great video essay. Me and my kid were having this conversation earlier. I told her Talia likes Roman because Roman made her feel seen in a way no one had ever done before.

Bᵢₗₑygᵣ :

I don’t like how this post frames it as if it were ONLY the film, it’s also how Roman perceives her himself, and because of that he was able to convey this through his filming of her

Foxybohv :

this genuinely makes so much sense tho. I didnt even think of the possibility that BDs could ruin other industries like podcasts or movies

riley :

I want to write like you

Fen :

these are all true points, Talia does want to live beautifully but more importantly she wants to die beautiful more than anything.

If they just aged the characters into adults it would be worth the watch. Not children.
