@cdkidwell04: Carillon Beach, Florida. On Sunday, a seagull ended up snagged in the line of a man fishing near the shore. The man was William “Stone” Romberg. The bird was in trouble in the water. Stone decided to go get it. He swam out. Those in the beach community say that while he was freeing the seagull, the line and the hook twisted around his hand. Now he was the one caught. He tried to swim back. The current pulled the other way, taking him farther from the sand. He did not reach shore. Stone left behind his wife, Taylor. He also left two daughters, Hadley and Lainey, ages 1 and 3. One day they will be old enough to hear what their father did that Sunday. Those closest to Stone say that swim told you everything about him. He saw something alive and struggling. He went in. A seagull. A fishing line. A hook around his hand. A current that would not let go. Please hold Taylor, Hadley, Lainey and the whole Romberg family close in your prayers. Rest easy, Stone.
