Look at it just from the family perspective. It wasn’t about friends or really any thing work wise. It was part of his life ,yes but this was about Matty and told only through his sister and his actual close friends. If they were on it then it becomes a friends documentary .

It was one of my favorite docs. I absolutely loved it and was happy no actors were in it and we got to hear from his sister and closest friends.

Friends is still a very powerful franchise so it is no surprise there would be little cooperation out of that camp. Matthew publicly said he didn’t want Friends to be the first thing he was remembered for; he had many other accomplishments. Matthew had friends and “industry friends”, Roger and David have been real friends with Matthew for 40 years. Mia Perry is Matthew’s sister. Julia Roberts only dated Matthew for a few months she would not have much to contribute. Celebrity doesn’t translate into meaningful contribution. Lizzy Caplan has refused to discuss her relationship with Matthew since they split in 2011. People have heard of Rene, Matthew speaks about her in his book. There are many holes in the docuseries and it is not a definitive tell all but it is still worth watching to get the prospective of his not so famous friend; ones who may actually have better insight into the man when he wasn’t in front of a camera. Nobody needs power players to give their stamp of approval or put their Hollywood spin on their relationship.

Read his book. I did. It was a fantastic book and he told you EVERYTHING!!! I don’t need his family to tell HIS STORY.. He spoke it himself. I recommend to everyone, read his book!!! He holds NOTHING back
