@jax_sheriff: Our Community Problem Response Unit tried to serve a warrant on a 26-year-old man when he decided to make things more difficult for everyone. What our suspect didn’t know is our Eagle Eye drone was ready to take flight. Our detectives tracked 26-year-old Jermayne Nixon down to a store on Norfolk Boulevard to serve him with an arrest warrant. Instead of following our directions, Nixon took off running into the woods behind the store. Our Eagle Eye drone followed after him, showing Nixon stashing a firearm into the bushes. Officers later returned to that spot and recovered the weapon. Using the information from the drone, officers caught up to Nixon and arrested him. After the arrest, officers discovered a large bag of cocaine in the center console of his vehicle. This is just another example of how our Eagle Eye drone program helps officers and keeps the community safe.
