I recently adopted a hospice dog. Senior Husky girl that was abused, neglected, and dumped. She has severe lung disease and I'm hoping to give her quality of life for whatever that time Gabe looks like. I walk on eggshells, I jump at every cough, but if I sleep I'm afraid she will be gone like my previous girls. I took her on because both of my females have passed. One in 2024 and one in december 2025. My boys are 12 &13 and don't quite need me like my girls did previously, and I felt empty not helping a pup. Its a love/hate/despair thing I think. I love gunning then my time, but hate the ultimate outcome.

Yes, it's true we do things for our terminal pups that after awhile we don't think twice about - until we don't do them anymore...and then oh how we miss doing those things. Personally, I'd do just about anything if my furbaby needed it, just to have them around - but sometimes God has a different plan...

I used to wear earbuds to sleep because I’m a light sleeper but when my little guy Billi got sick, I needed to listen to every move he made. It’s been 6 days since I’ve said goodbye to him and I wear them to sleep again. I cried when I realised I could again. I miss him terribly 😩

Well,shit, this one hurt, it’s not even been 36hrs. Woke up this morning and then had to remember they’re gone. I wait for the little grumble to let me know they need help to get up and when it doesn’t come I look for them and they’re not there

is it weird that my soul cat is alive and im already grieving losing him? he is 14 and I don't know what im going to do when he is gone. he sleeps on my hip every night. he follows me everywhere. I have other cats but they just aren't the same. the only relief I have is knowing he will meet his best friend at the rainbow bridge. they were together for 12 of his 14 years...I already crying and missing him even though he ia still here.
