pelvic exenteration is such a devastating procedure😞 i’m glad you’re still here but i know it must be so alienating, it’s a grief humans have never really had to grapple with on that level. medicine is amazing but it makes it that much harder to grieve something that shouldn’t even be possible💔 we’re supposed to feel grateful as disabled people who rely on medicine to be here but that’s what makes the grief so complicated🫂

people who have suffered amputations of limbs are suggested therapy and ways to manage what those changes do to the brain and self-understanding. it should be the same for your surgery.

at first I misread exent as event. it does kind of seem like a traumatic event. I can't imagine how I would feel. I can't believe that you have to just get up every day and walk away from that feeling.

We all simply pilot a meat suit and some of us were issued defective ones. Still gotta take care of maintenance needs, but it is hard to be proud of one that's fighting you.
