Honestly I would do the same thing. Investing is scary and it can pay off but having a paid off house? I mean that can never change (besides property taxes)

I cannot express enough how much I appreciate you. You’re informative you’re real. Your content shows realities. As an accountant, I try to stress all of these things to my clients. You can have it all you just can’t have it all at once and you have to set goals.! thank you for what you’re doing here!!

If it’s not your forever home you probably should do at least 50/50 with investing

Ugh when you're so young the stock market and compound interest would be wild! I do get mistrust but I hope you're still investing

The housing market will never crash. Pay your house off. Best thing you’ll ever do as long as you are still putting money into retirement.

Can you imagine not having a mortgage at like age 35?? After you get it paid off then you can start playing with the stock market.

Girl, do half and half. Your home value will double every 15ish years.

for me personally it eases my mind to reduce my debt. the job market in my specific industry is getting worse so having a debt free house in the near future lowers my monthly costs and makes selling in the worst case easier than having to liquidate other assets first

My financial advisor told me paying off your home is the best investment hands down as long as you have other investments as well. I’m doubling my mortgage monthly and putting a smaller percentage into a Roth IRA. I’ll believe him over people on TikTok so go get that mortgage down girl 🙌🏻❤️

Do you have a fixed rate? Also it’s still possible for your mortgage to go up due to insurance, and taxes depending on your location. Ours went up over $200 over 5 years bc of that [Crying]

I don’t think people look at how much interest you pay when you have a mortgage!

Some friendly advise, saving for retirement is so important of course, but as you are someone who does not want to work full time/forever remember you can’t withdrawal from retirement accounts until 59.5 years old. I would recommend investing outside of your retirement account so you have money you can access and use before that age!!
