My biggest regret in life. Don’t make life decisions out of fear. I told myself it was because I wanted to have a family young and be a SAHM and I didn’t want to be in school for decades but it was actually fear of not being able to make it financially or not being smart enough. Now i know that it’s not about being smart it’s about getting smart and money comes and goes. The best investment you can make is in yourself, as corny as that sounds.

Med school is one of the best ROI’s ever. It pays for itself so many times over, it’s scary. Med school these days is ftw financially but has its drawdowns non financially but still very much worth it.

My favorite doc I work with went back to med school at 40. Just finished his EM residency last June at almost 47. He was a green beret army medic for 18 years before that.

Don’t think about how long it takes . And don’t think you’re not smart enough. Think about motivation. Find yours. My personal motivation was realizing how sad I would be if I hated my job that burns so many of your life’s hours . Oh and my mom.

Totally agree. But with a different perspective. I thought Med school was extremely hard and time-consuming but loved it! And we definitely had a good time as well. I was always stressed for exams… But that’s just me. Do I regret going… No. Am I so happy I became a doctor… Yes! It’s worth the hard work. The time passes anyway! I tell people that all the time.

Derm is my goal! Went back to school at 33 after being a realtor for 10 years because I didn’t want to put in the time at 18 lol now I’m locked in, currently in the middle of organic chem though so I may eat my words next week after my second test on mechanisms 😭
