Here are some obvious no-no’s with physical contact when it comes to personal training. First and foremost, if you absolutely must put your hands on a client, explicit consent is a must. This is the bare minimum. Secondly, the examples of touching shown here in this clip are very much crossing the line. There are too many trainers abusing their power and positions of authority and being excessively handsy with their clients. It doesn’t make you a better trainer. It doesn’t mean you “care more”. Squeezing, poking, and grabbing someone’s glutes, straddling a client while they’re thrusting, hands literally cupping a woman’s chest, feeling someone’s upper thigh… all completely unnecessary and not okay. 🚩 You never, EVER need to get this physical on the training floor with someone you’re helping.
