@tucsonnow: Almost one year after three University of Arizona students were killed at the intersection of Euclid and Second, their families are suing the City of Tucson and the driver involved in the crash. The lawsuit accuses the city of ignoring years of pedestrian safety concerns before the deaths of Sophia Troetel, Josiah Santos and Katya Castillo-Mendoza. Each family is seeking $50 million in damages. 13 News reviewed the full complaint. Here’s what it reveals about the warnings made before the deadly crash. #fyp #tucson #lawsuit #uofa #uofarizona
Tucson is the 4th most dangerous city to drive in the COUNTRY because of the number of people killed by drivers. almost zero lighting at night, zero road markers anywhere, people don't have any flashlights at night, plus the number of old people who can barely see as it is.

I can’t believe it’s been a year 💔💔 I still can’t bring myself to use this crosswalk and anytime I turn towards main gate it’s all I think about :(

Lived on 2nd st and 2nd ave and had to cross this exact intersection multiple times every single day. It’s sooooo sketchy drivers almost never stopped for me when they were supposed to

I live up on Swan, near Ft Lowell. In 3 months, we had 3 pedestrian deaths in a 1/4 mile stretch of road. No sidewalks, crappy lighting (or no lighting) and lack of attention make it deadly to walk in Tucson.

I don’t understand why it’s not a blinking cross walk like the one RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD

Almost nightly I see someone run through the red light at that intersection (it is not a flashing light)

I agree with improving fhe safety if this area, however, the driver was impaired and may have still not been able to react properly to avoid hitting pedestrians

The driver and family should pay but not the city.
