How can I successfully join and do VITA? I heard it's difficult. I'm transferring to a uni to do accounting after learning about it last summer so I'm a little lost

I’m wondering if it’s too late for me I mean, not only am I not super confident in tax I mean, I have an OK enough grade in the class so far, but it is a pretty complicated subject not to mention I’m already a junior, so it might be a little too late for me, but my defense, I switched majors last semester and almost all of my classes for the next year and a half are gonna all be required accounting classes this honestly just feels like a lot of stuff that I need to do and it almost feels like I’m screwed because I started knowing that I wanted to do accounting a little late

So true, I did 160 hours of VITA in my undergrad and I definitely wouldn’t have been where I am today without it. Probably did upwards of 100 returns.

I did vita last semester and want to apply to audit internships so I can kinda dip my toes in both considering I’m just a sophomore, is that a good idea? Should I maybe try to do vita again?

I volunteered at VITA and loved what I did. I decided to go back to school to pursue my CPA. I am also working towards becoming an EA. I just landed an internship in a local CPA boutique firm specializing in Tax. I am enrolled in a Certificate program in accounting that lets me sit for the CPA exam, however, I can apply for the masters program after completing the prerequisite courses. I just don’t know if is worth going for my masters? Or just get CPA certified without a masters? What do you recommend?

I took it as a class and have been volunteering for the past 4 years. It really is helpful to understand basic personal taxes but it’s helpful interacting with the clients.
