@michellesim: I can’t put into words how demoralizing it felt to open my Ledger today and realize I had lost everything. I’d rather be punched in the gut 1000 times than have to sit with the reality that I was manipulated, deceived, and ultimately outsmarted by the cruelty of this world. I blame myself for not taking a step back before letting this happen, but what AI has enabled hackers to do, especially when combined with psychological fear tactics, is terrifying. They create a sense of urgency, panic, and fear of losing everything until you end up handing it over yourself, believing you’re doing whatever it takes to protect what you have. And that’s the most disturbing part. You don’t have to be careless, naive, or unintelligent for this to happen. It really can happen to anyone.

Reminding everyone of Rule No. 1 when a website calls you, hang up and then YOU call the website on their phone number listed on their website.

Don’t pick up unknown numbers. Period. They use AI to make the voice to anything.

If you know how crypto works… there is no personal info needed… just the seedphrase or passphrase

Also you should understand how a ledger works. It’s a cold storage wallet. They would need physical access to your ledger to approve a transaction. That’s the whole point of the ledger, making the security physical. The biggest security flaw in almost anything is the people.

I’ve gotten official looking emails too and I just ignore ‘cause I trust nobody. I go directly to my accounts and check if I have any notifications within the account.
