@leahgneco_md: Let’s get back on track with med school applications! Believe it or not we are still early in the med school application process. Many people still have not received interviews yet and that is OKAY! At this point, it is important to re-engage programs. Send out letters of interest to any program you have not heard back from. Send out letters of intent to programs you want to move off the waitlist or to get an update about their decision. It’s important to frame this letters as updates rather than love letters. Focus on what you are doing right now and plans you have for the rest of the year. Be clear with your ask: either an interview or a moving off the waitlist, etc. This is not the time to sit & wait … take your journey to becoming a physician in your own hands. To be candid, I did not receive my first med school interview until after thanksgiving. Even with that, by the end of the cycle I had received 4 acceptances to MD programs.
