@meghannmcuniff: Texas criminal trials mean courtroom gun demonstrations, and we've sene a few in Markies "Yella Beezy" Conway's trial so far. This morning it was with Phillip Duong, a forensic firearms and tool mark examiner with the Texas Department Public Safety Crime Laboratory, and yesterday it was with Seth Rosenberg, an officer in the Dallas Police Department's crime scene unit who photographed the stash house in Dallas where Kewon White went after he shot Melvin "MO3" Noble Jr. dead on Interstate 35 on Nov. 11, 2020. Melissa Hatchett, a Dallas County assistant district attorney, was holding a semi-automatic rifle seized from the home when Judge Chika Anyiam said, "Just for the benefit of the jury, that gun had been cleared by the deputies." "Yes, Your Honor," Hatchett said. Conway, 35, is charged with capital murder and murder-for-hire. Prosecutors say he paid $40,000 for Noble's murder. A separate jury last month convicted White of being the gunman, and Judge Anyiam sentenced him to life in prison. #law #crime #court
