@konah619: A river blocked for over a century just opened its doors again. 🌊 Two years after the largest dam removal in US history, more than 20,000 Chinook salmon have swum up the Klamath River in California. A new study in Scientific Reports, led by Damon Goodman of CalTrout, found the fish reclaimed about 88 percent of their historic range above the old dam sites. This matters because healthy salmon runs feed tribes, wildlife, and whole ecosystems. 🐟 Researchers say challenges remain, including drought, water use, and two dams still on the river. Imagine being stuck behind a wall for generations and finally walking home. 💙 Sometimes the best thing we can build is nothing at all.
