@prince_ds1: I need everyone to understand that legally speaking their are not bastards because they are claimed by Laenor #houseofthedragon #jacaerysvelaryon #asoiaf #fyp #foryoupage
The clam they are bastards comes from them having dark hair in the show. Meanwhile in the book it wasn’t about the hair colour since Rhaenys’s mother was Jocelyn Baratheon and she had black hair following the Baratheon family trait

If they legally were bastards then they would have been called Waters and not Valaryons

At this point claiming they’re bastards immediately makes me question people’s sanity. & makes me 10000% assume they’re Trump supporters in real life 💀

You do realize people point out that they’re bastards in the same vein that Cersei’s kids were bastards, right? It doesn’t matter that they were acknowledged by their supposed father, their actual father was known by appearance (if anything they’re worse than the Baratheon-Lannister children because the Baratheon-Lannister children only had rumors about Cersei/Jaime while the Strong bastards literally looked like Rhaenyra’s sworn sword). The fact that there’s a question of their legitimacy at all is enough to cause instability on a large scale in feudal succession. Team Black seems to endlessly harp on the king’s/queen’s word being law but the king’s/queen’s word doesn’t count for much if the people don’t respect them. And Rhaenyra wasn’t respected because she was trying to tout her bastards as being legitimate in a hilariously see-through farce.
