4 cyl is only good if you get the hybrid with it besides that your getting a cvt as well with the v6 you get a traditional automatic

The one serious problem with the V6 is what they call transmission lag time. Look it up in Toyota forums or just Google it. I sold mine because unless you’re driving in sport mode all the time when you’re slowly rolling to a stop and then want to accelerate quickly like going out into traffic sometimes with the V6 and the transmission it lags and the car just rolls for a couple seconds, which is very dangerous. Toyota absolutely knew about it when I talked to them and they recommend I buy a pedal commander, because there’s genuinely not a fix for it. They also told me just leave it in sport mode, but every time you turn the car off, it defaults back to eco mode. I absolutely loved my 2024 XSE V6, but I couldn’t justify driving it when it kept doing that

Everyone talking about the 2.5 being sluggish are driving it in eco mode. It’s a great car. The 8 speed was apparently fixed in later models. 24 SE with the 2.5 just bought it recently

I have a 2018 Toyota Camry se with a fully straight pipe exhaust catless headers with a stage 2 tune to ecu and engine and transmission had it for over 6 years on the tune I my car is still running like out the dealership no problems to trans or engine I got faster shifting too

V6 is not crazily less fuel efficient. That 4 cylinder has a lot of weight to move. 4 cylinder head gasket poppers, water pump failure, unproven long term widespread. V6 is built on a long lasting 2gr base design. I get between 21-26 city and 30-35 interstate at 80-85 mphz

4 cyl has appealing gas mileage which is a HUGE pro in this economy. V6 makes more noise, packs a punch for a family sedan, and matches the hp of a TRD. Really just matters what you value in a vehicle. More power or spending less at the pump. I chose the v6 because gas isn’t a problem for me

It’s all preference between them really. Both have their pros and cons but the only thing u have to factor between them is if u want adequate power and good fuel economy, or better power and less fuel Economy. Both are great cars.

I’ve always said this. A sedan that’s 3k LBS does NOT need a damn 4cyl. Too much weight idc if there’s a turbo. More engine stress
