@songs_that_take_us_back: is the iconic opening lyric and central theme of the hit song "No Time" by the Canadian rock band The Guess Who. About the Song • The Concept: Written by guitarist Randy Bachman and lead singer Burton Cummings, the track functions as a "reverse Dear John letter"—a breakup anthem delivered from the perspective of the person walking away to seek "better things" and "distant roads". • The Inspiration: Randy Bachman noted that the track was their take on country-rock, heavily inspired by the style of Neil Young and Stephen Stills. #notime #theguesswho
