I started blocking all negative people when showgirl was released. My FYP is pretty clean of bots and parasocial haters. I even block from comment sections of positive videos. If I see any in this comment section, I will block. 🫶❤️

I didn’t like showgirl all that much, but I didn’t like lover all that much either, and between those two are my top 4 albums, so I trust she’ll go on to make many more songs I’ll love.

I also think that the haters absolutely miss that she recognizes the hate. It’s all over her lyrics. WAOLOM? Literally says “and I’ll sue you if you step on my lawn. That I’m fearsome and I’m wretched and I’m wrong.” To me? That was her response to the Olivia discourse. Cleveland? Canceled? Actually Romantic? She knows what the rhetoric is. I think she doesn’t get as hurt by it that she used to, but (and I’m being terribly empathetically parasocial here): I think it annoys her. Because it’s SO ridiculous. The Gaylors? They are literally insane. The Swiftologist is venomous about his dislike of everything she does AND he makes bank off hating her (which would irritate me beyond belief). I think the Matty letter was a pivotal moment for her and her fandom: when the fans grossly overstepped and she saw her fandom develop a very dark and very poisonous sect that loved to hate her.
