At a press conference on Thursday, October 29, he said Mia is “doing great.” He said she even went on the team wives’ trip this past weekend. “She was a rockstar,” he said. “I appreciate you asking about her,” Bieniemy told reporters. “Her rehab has been going great.” He joked that he probably got on her nerves during the trip. According to a criminal complaint obtained by ABC News, Mia was sh*t in the left forearm and shoulder with a .22-caliber firearm on July 26 at the family’s home in Ashburn, Virginia. She was hospitalized afterward. Their 27-year-old son, Elijah, was arrested. According to Loudoun County court documents, he was charged with three felonies. They are use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious wounding and discharging a firearm within a building. He has been charged, and the allegations have not been proven. After the incident, Bieniemy missed 11 practices to be with Mia in Virginia. He returned to Chiefs training camp on August 10. A week after returning, he praised her strength. “She’s truly a soldier, she’s a saint, and it’s been incredible to watch,” he said.
