Fr. Dave reminds us that kindness is important, but kindness does not mean allowing ourselves to be mistreated, abused, or taken advantage of. There are situations in life where simply being patient and gentle is not enough. Sometimes, we need to be firm, speak the truth, and make difficult decisions to protect what is right. Being kind does not require us to remain silent when something is clearly wrong. There are people who may mistake our kindness for weakness. When we always forgive without setting boundaries, always give in, or continue accepting hurtful behavior, others may feel that they can keep doing the same things without consequences. True kindness also requires wisdom and courage. We can remain respectful without allowing others to disrespect us, and we can forgive someone without giving them unlimited opportunities to hurt us again. Our faith teaches us to love our neighbor, but love does not mean tolerating injustice or ignoring wrongdoing. There are moments when we must stand up for ourselves and for others, tell the truth, and say no to what is harmful. Jesus Himself showed compassion, but He also stood firmly against hypocrisy, injustice, and wrongdoing. There is a time to be gentle, and there is also a time to be firm. What matters is that even when we are firm, we do not allow anger, hatred, or revenge to control our hearts. So, continue to be kind, but do not be afraid to set boundaries and stand for what is right. You can have a good heart while still being strong enough to walk away from what harms you. You can forgive without forgetting the lessons, and you can love without allowing yourself to be abused. May God give us the wisdom to know when to offer flowers and when we need the courage to carry the sword of truth, justice, and righteousness. #FrDaveConcepcion #UniversalFaith #Homilies #Highlights #Inspiration

Lucas 6:41:
