@latest.new11: Patrick Mahomes Addresses The Chiefs Signing Justin Tucker, Who He Clashed With In 2024 Patrick Mahomes is speaking about his new teammate. On Wednesday, October 28, the Chiefs quarterback, 30, was asked about the team signing kicker Justin Tucker. Tucker, 36, was suspended without pay for 10 games last season after more than a dozen women made allegations of se*ual misconduct. The Chiefs are the first team to offer him a contract since. Mahomes and Tucker have a history. In January 2024, Travis Kelce got frustrated that Tucker, then with the Ravens, left his equipment on the field while Mahomes warmed up. Kelce kicked Tucker’s footballs into the stands. Asked where things stand now, Mahomes said they “haven’t had a lot of conversations.” But he said there is no tension. “It wasn’t like we had any beef or anything,” he said. “It was just competitors being competitors.” When asked directly about the signing, his answer was short. “I try not to get too high or too low on anything,” he said. He added that he is confident the Chiefs “do a great job of bringing great players in.” Then he turned to the next game. The Chiefs face the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 1. “We have a lot of stuff that we have to clean up,” Mahomes said. The signing came after kicker Harrison Butker missed two key field goals in a 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on October 25. Head coach Andy Reid, 68, also addressed it. “He’s done his suspension, you know. Took care of that business there,” he said.
