Pressing charges should only be up to the DA & she should absolutely go to jail for child abuse & child endangerment at the very least, if not attempted murder cuz everyone knows that infants aren't competent swimmers even with those lifesaving lessons where the baby learns to turn over & float until some other adult rescues them. All that being said, resisting arrest should never be a charge at all, let alone the only charge because if you're arresting someone without cause, of course 99% of humans are going to resist that. Resisting arrest is deeply rooted in human instincts. No human is comfortable when a bunch of strangers are grabbing at them & taking away their defense mechanisms. It's why there are countries where resisting arrest & escaping prison are not charged as crimes. It's because they're viewed as a natural reaction to taking a human into custody & taking their freedom away. If you escape prison without violence, theft or causing property damage in these countries, they'll just take you back without adding on additional charges. The US is a feelings over facts & feelings over evidence based country so of course people get charged, not for the illegal thing they actually did but for an instinctual reaction they can't easily control, if they can control it at all. She should be arrested for what she did to that kid, not because she didn't immediately allow them to override her hundreds of thousands of years of instincts that she has because it kept ancient humans alive. Utterly ridiculous.
