Ernie is more than just a desperate mofo. He is a man who gets nothing out of life. He puts himself out there and gets no love, he works at a factory where he is just one of many, he lived with his parents because he needed to care for them. There's just a lot of hopelessness in his life and the one time something is finally somewhat going his way, ESPECIALLY when he has someone who has everything he doesnt as a best friend (and tbh a friend that often mocks him for not having those things), its really hard to just accept it isnt true. it actually always surprises me how well written the george lopez show is xD
