When the Hand That Enforces the Law Must Answer to the Law By Cyrus Werd Let me ask a question that deserves an honest investigation: What if the people we're watching aren't the only ones who need watching? What if some of the people who are supposed to stop the drugs are secretly helping them get through? What if the badge becomes a shield, the uniform becomes a disguise, and the very authority entrusted to protect us is abused for somebody else's profit? I'm not saying every agent is guilty. I'm not blaming entire communities. I'm asking questions that deserve answers. Because history has shown us that corruption doesn't always walk through the back door. Sometimes it has a key. Sometimes it has a badge. Sometimes it has access to the very systems designed to stop it. So let's follow the money. Let's examine the evidence. Let's investigate the shipments. Let's uncover the connections. Who brings it in? Who moves it? Who protects it? Who profits from it? And who investigates the investigators? Because if we're going to declare war on drugs, we cannot turn a blind eye to corruption wearing the uniform of authority. A community shouldn't have to live in fear of criminals on the streets or corruption behind a government desk. The law must apply to everybody. Not just the poor. Not just the powerless. Not just the people without a voice. Nobody is above accountability. I don't want another distraction. I don't want another scapegoat. I want the truth. Because the real question isn't simply who is bringing the poison into our neighborhoods. It's whether we're brave enough to investigate everyone involved, regardless of their title, position, uniform, wealth, or political connections. The people deserve the truth.
