香兰 :
Lan Na came under the rule of Myanmar's Toungoo and Konbaung dynasties starting from 1558, remaining under Myanmar's political and cultural influence for over two centuries. The royal thrones, traditional attire (such as Chhet/weaved patterns), dance styles, and the Peacock symbol (the royal emblem of the Myanmar Konbaung Dynasty) featured in this series are cultural heritages left behind precisely because of this historical period under Myanmar's rule.
These cannot simply be claimed as exclusive "Thai cultural heritage." While borrowing neighboring cultures is acceptable, it is essential to truthfully acknowledge their historical origins within the drama. We have museums, historical records, and concrete evidence to prove this. For instance, textile weaving like "Chhet" originated from Myanmar, and historical facts can fully substantiate this if searched.
Thai culture and Myanmar culture are distinct and entirely different from one another. Myanmar's culture cannot simply be generalized or appropriated as Thai culture. The creators of this series need to accept the historical truth that these costumes, thrones, and dances originate from Myanmar. If you refuse to accept this and continue to deny it, I would simply say: "Please read books and study history."
Merely changing the title of the series is not enough to satisfy us. We will continue to monitor and critique this series closely from its release. It is true that our country is facing political hardships and economic struggles, but please do not take advantage of this to exploit and manipulate our culture as you wish. We expect mutual respect. To anyone who cannot accept this and comes to curse in the comments, I will not respond—just please take the time to study history. Thank you.
