🖤 MENTAL HEALTH MINUTE: I don’t throw shade. I tell the truth. 👏🏼 Here’s the thing about self-awareness and accountability: I have absolutely NO problem owning my part in a situation. The good, the bad, the ugly, and even the moments when I could’ve handled things better. 💯 Growth means learning to PAUSE before reacting, recognizing when emotions are taking the wheel, and understanding that not every situation deserves an immediate response. Because sometimes our reactions can create bigger problems than the situation itself. But accountability does NOT mean sugarcoating the truth to protect someone else’s feelings. If I tell my side of a story, I’m telling ALL of it. Including the parts where I wasn’t perfect. I’m not rewriting history to make myself look like a saint, but I’m also not leaving out the uncomfortable details to make someone else look better. And if my honest account of an experience makes someone feel like the villain? That’s something for them to unpack with themselves and their higher power. Not me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You can take accountability for your own behavior without taking responsibility for someone else’s. I’m not responsible for controlling how someone feels about the truth. I’m responsible for making sure what I say IS truthful. ✨ Self-awareness. Emotional regulation. Accountability. Honesty. That’s what growth looks like to me. 💬 LET’S TALK: Have you ever told the truth about something you experienced, only to have someone accuse you of throwing shade or making them look bad? Do you think people sometimes confuse honesty with disrespect because the truth makes them uncomfortable? I’m genuinely curious where everyone stands on this one. 👀🖤 #MentalHealthMinute #SelfAwareness #Accountability #EmotionalIntelligence #PersonalGrowth
