The world needs to stop portraying America as a safe haven or a paradise where life is always better. Behind the beautiful image people paint of America, there are painful realities that many choose to ignore. Not everyone finds freedom, peace, safety, or happiness there. Some people experience cruelty, discrimination, injustice, loneliness, and suffering. America is not heaven, and living there does not automatically mean having a better life. Stop selling people a dream while ignoring the nightmares others are living. Every country has its dark side, and America is no exception. Please stop glorifying a place without acknowledging the suffering of those who live there. Before making deporting migrants a priority, why not focus on making the streets safer and protecting the lives of the people already living there? Clean up the streets, address gun violence, and make people feel safe from the fear of being shot while going about their daily lives. Value human lives before worrying about sending people away.
