@crom.movie: Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau experienced a frightening night in Ukraine after a Russian air raid threat forced him to take shelter underground alongside local residents. The 56-year-old Danish actor, best known for playing Jaime Lannister, was visiting Kyiv as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). On Wednesday night, he spent hours inside a metro station as residents sought protection from the threat of Russian missile and drone strikes. Photos obtained by Page Six showed Coster-Waldau lying on a small camp bed while wearing a blue UNDP hoodie, cargo pants, and sneakers. He also carried his own supplies and was photographed near temporary shelters set up inside the station. After the experience, the actor shared an emotional message on Instagram. "Spent the night in the Kyiv Metro. Pretty rough night," he wrote. But he also reminded followers that this was only one night for him, while thousands of Ukrainians face this reality regularly. "I get to do it one night and tell the tale but there are thousands of Ukrainians it’s a necessity to be safe during the shelling," he added. Speaking to Reuters, Coster-Waldau explained that his visit was intended to raise awareness and remind the world that Ukraine still needs international support, particularly as winter approaches. The actor has served as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador since 2016, supporting humanitarian and environmental causes. Sometimes, spending just one night in someone else's reality can change how deeply we understand their daily struggles.
