I don’t believe it’s to do with the neutral, the reason is the 3 phases are in the cable together in tre-foil formation which cancels out the edi current

the magnetic fields mostly cancel out when all of the conductors pass through the same hole… hence why it doesn’t matter if the gland plate is ferrous or not
