Terrible advice.... FMLA is unpaid and you only accrue a certain amount per year. If you use it for no reason and start another job and actually need it you're SOL.

You can even use it for family. My wife has lupus so when she’s in a flare I utilize FMLA to work remotely to support her.

FMLA is an unpaid leave so most companies coordinate PTO so you still get paid. If you don’t have PTO it will be an unpaid leave. Short-term disability may work too and you will receive pay.
