@abdimarihotmarbun: Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez was a humble Jesuit brother who proved that extraordinary holiness can be found in the simplest duties of everyday life. Born in Spain in 1532, Alphonsus endured heartbreaking tragedy when his wife and children died. Seeking a deeper relationship with God, he entered the Society of Jesus as a lay brother. For more than 40 years, he served as the doorkeeper of a Jesuit college in Majorca, welcoming students, strangers, and the poor with extraordinary patience and love. Alphonsus approached every visitor as though he were welcoming Jesus Christ Himself. His quiet holiness inspired countless people, including Saint Peter Claver, who later devoted his life to serving enslaved Africans in the Americas. Though he never became a famous preacher or held an important position in the Church, Alphonsus transformed an ordinary responsibility into a lifelong act of devotion. His life reminds us that sainthood is not measured by great accomplishments, but by the love and faithfulness with which we perform even the smallest tasks. Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez shows us that every encounter with another person is an opportunity to serve Christ.
