[Applause][Perfect score] That’s what I live by . As I get older I don’t care anymore. BLOCK WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION! ♉️💪🏼

Bars… “I reached a point in my life where I would genuinely rather lose someone than lose my self-respect trying to keep them!”

I’ve made it into 3/3. Once it’s a mistake. Twice it’s bothersome. Thrice it’s intentional.

I disrespected a very dear friend and hurt them deeply. I didn't realize how much I hurt myself in doing so. That really changed me to being a better person so it want happen with anyone else. I face my mistakes and acknowledge that I did wrong so that I can make the changes in me.

Well said. As we reach our tolerance levels,we no longer allow everyone a seat at our table. I closed the door on a 30 year friendship and a 12 year friendship because of disrespect and crossing of boundaries. If a friend doesn't respect you, then they don't need such a person in their life and neither do I. This has given me a lot of peace

I get this, and yes, it's exhausting. Yelling back isn't healthy, so walking away feels like the mature choice. But there's a third option: calm yourself first, then have the conversation.
People sometimes say things in the heat of the moment that they genuinely regret. When you bring it up calmly, many will say "you're right, that won't happen again." If they repair it, great. If they don't, now you have your answer and can walk away with clarity.
Research on relationships backs this up. Conflict isn't what breaks them, it's the failure to repair. Shutting down and walking away in silence is one of the patterns linked to relationships falling apart. (Ongoing disrespect or abuse is different, and leaving is right.)
Walking away without a conversation takes away the chance for repair. Think about it. I'll be breaking this down more on my page, Real Talk on Relationships. Come join the conversation if you want to build healthier relationships. 💛
