@c5news: A kitchen engineer from south Essex is risking his life to save animals left behind as war continues to rage in Ukraine. Jordan Bailey has been involved in saving the lives of over 1,000 animals in Kharkiv, and one four-legged friend, a cat called Murphy, is due to come home with him shortly. The 33-year-old admits that it is “really dangerous, it's life or death over there” but is compelled to help as “the animals need me”. He’s travelled to the warzone twice and is due there again soon. Mr Bailey, who has loved animals since he was a boy, is in the process of establishing a UK-registered charity to support “animal rescue and care work connected to the situation in Ukraine”. As of midday on 30 October, just over £19,000 had been raised. #5news
