Non teacher here. I help on my daughters 3rd grade class every week (on top of my full time job). You are spot on. I don’t know how teachers do it or what we (as parents) can do differently at home to help. Open to advice but it’s a mess.

It’s so bad I see it with my college students…college students!!! I love teaching but sometimes I’m too busy answering simple questions that they can find the answer to themselves that I can’t even teach the material.

I help in my son’s 3rd grade class for 1 hour 1 day a week. I’m amazed every tingle time at how much patience teachers have. Your doing the lords work 🙌🙌

Because we are only teaching about 40% because all of the other management is about 60%. I am a teacher of 22 years. This is not normal and cannot be allowed to become the new normal.

Yep they expect us to hold their hand and do it for them because that's what there parents do. I just look at them and ask them Where does it go ? What are you suppose to be doing ?

I work in the front office of a middle school. I cannot tell you how many students need to call home every single day but 7/10 kids do not know their number. I write it down every single time and not one time do the kids at least keep the paper so they have the number let alone learn their adult’s number. I have had the same kids from 6 until 8th grade and they still cannot tell you their number.
