The scales aren’t visible though. Otherwise why is everyone surprised when stabbing her doesn’t work… they were t expecting the armour

but aren't the scales sown in..? as in, not visible since she explains what the corset is multiple times? so I think it being depicted as fully black makes sense..

Persephonae :
the corset has a secondary material that obscures the scales so that it appears black until you look closely. she would not be able to wear it if it appeared green to the naked eye

because it is black. the scales are under camouflage fabric mesh so you can't see them. mira wasn't advertising.

It can be like the other have commented, that it’s covered. But it doesn’t always sound like it is coverd but she talk about it being rider black before she and mira goes to sign her in. So I thought it was like colored or someting bevouse she dries it while training in the training room and still noone knows she has dragon scales.

Wait, doesn't she wear something on top of the corset? Like a shirt, the corset and something else or it's me hallucinating?

Optimistic :
The corset is under her clothes. No one knows she’s wearing dragon scales.
