I really needed to hear this today. I recently attended an interview for a role I genuinely believed I was a perfect fit for. I knew what I was bringing to the table, I was confident in my abilities, and I honestly thought I would get the job. I gave it my best, but unfortunately, I got rejected. I won’t lie, it hurts, especially when you have so much hope invested in an opportunity. It makes you question a few things about yourself. But I guess that’s life. Not every opportunity we believe is meant for us will work out. I’ll take the disappointment, learn from it and keep moving. Hopefully, something better is waiting ahead.

I’m the first woman in my family that’s posting this much on social media. The women in my family are reserved (You probably know that, if you recognize me). Audacity din men in my family inspires me. I sent in almost 200 job applications before I started my career in development sector. Kawai a buga a buga. Bouncing back from rejection easily should be a skill that youth needs to harness. I cold pitch myself all the time, I network and introduce myself everywhere I go. If you don’t put yourself out there, you are reducing your surface area.
