And we saw the same things happening with settlements, settlers, annexation, this colonialist approach” The Palestinian Authority’s foreign minister has cautioned against reading too much into Israel’s election, saying that regardless of the government that emerges, millions of Palestinians living in territories under Israeli occupation remain unable to participate in the democratic process. “Most of the candidates have not voiced any interest in the two-state solution, for example or more rights for the Palestinians,” Varsen Aghabekian said in an interview with AP news agency. “A new government might end up doing the same as the current government. But maybe in a different form and shape. You might ease up a few iron gates, you might allow a few labourers to go into Israel. But would that really change the crux, the core? No, it wouldn't,” she added.
