As an Australian Iām not big on Halloween but my child wanted to give it a go a few years ago and itās gained traction in our local community over the past few years so she dressed up, we painted a spider in her baby sisterās head to include her and off we went. We were amazed at how many houses handed our daughter extra things for our baby and for us parents! We never expected it at all but it was actually so much fun and felt wonderful to be included. My oldest obviously got the main benefits of having their baby sisterās lollies as her sister was only 4 months old lol but it was so much fun. Sadly a month later we moved to a new community and itās too dangerous where we are but my oldestās older siblings and their Mum are taking her in our old community this year š„°

for years I lived in an area with a lot of g** violence, especially amongst our teens. I LOVED seeing teenagers trick or treating because it usually meant they were safe and not engaging in illegal or unsafe activities - even if it was just for a few hours. they were always respectful and seemed excited to participate. I don't understand turning anybody down based on their age alone

I get extra excited when the older kids knock on the door because that means they are still keeping the magic alive! Letās just let kids be kids for as long as they want life is scary enough

Yep. When you have a non verbal child ,trick or treating is just ā¦..different. People expect the kids to say ātrick or treat ā my son will just stand in silence,bless him. Also, some adults say āso tell us a joke thenā and Iām instantly stressed coz now I feel the need to explain why my son wonāt speak.

The magic of Halloween has no age limit. We go all out for spooky season. If you come to our house on Halloween, you get candy, no questions asked. We're just glad that people are out enjoying trick or treating šš»

I guess itās an unpopular opinion but I really hope older teenagers come to my door ! I feel the same way I love to see it thereās no rush to grow up. I have enough candy to go around and if not the younger kids donāt need all that anyways. Coming from a mom with young kids haha

My four year old who is not on spectrum whatsoever will NOT say trick or treat, never has one time and I always stress out because some people wait until he says itā¦ well he wonāt!! lol, I say it. š
