If you want to lift your face, start by releasing what is pulling it down. Before you focus on lifting the cheeks or softening the nasolabial folds, you need to address the depressors. The platysma, depressor anguli oris, and depressor labii inferioris are muscles that pull the lower face downward. When they become chronically overactive, they can contribute to a heavier-looking jawline, downturned mouth corners, and make the mid-face appear less supported. If the depressors are constantly “on,” the elevators have to work against that tension. That’s why this is one of the first tutorials I recommend. By helping the depressors relax, you create a better environment for the lifting muscles to function more efficiently. Think of it this way: before you lift, stop pulling down. 💛 Save this tutorial and make it the first step in your lower and mid-face routine. A lifted face starts by releasing the muscles that have been holding it back.
