US President Donald Trump stated that he expects the military conflict with Iran to "get wrapped up soon," emphasizing that any ultimate resolution must include firm, verifiable security guarantees that Iran will never develop or acquire a nuclear weapon. Key Details of the Recent Statements On the Timeline for Ending the Conflict: In media appearances (including a radio interview with Kansas City station KCMO and a rally appearance in Texas), Trump remarked that the war could conclude very quickly on proper terms, noting: "Somebody asked me before, 'When will the war in Iran end?' I said, 'Whenever I want it to end.'" The Nuclear Mandate: Trump underscored that a non-negotiable condition for a lasting end to hostilities is an absolute guarantee regarding Iran's nuclear program. He asserted, "We need a guarantee there'll never be a nuclear weapon... One way or the other, it's going to end very soon." Assessment of Iranian Capabilities: Trump claimed that US military actions have severely degraded Iran's infrastructure, pointing to heavy damage inflicted on its naval fleet, air defense radar, and nuclear development sites. However, he also noted that the extent of leadership disruption has occasionally complicated direct diplomatic channels. Diplomatic Background: Trump's comments coincide with ongoing diplomatic efforts led by international mediators—such as Qatari officials traveling to Tehran—to push for revised draft proposals and a pathway toward ending the conflict.
