@shawnkhowerton: The Wisdom of King Solomon: A Powerful Lesson in Parental Alienation In the biblical story of King Solomon, two women claimed to be the mother of the same baby. Solomon ordered that the child be divided in two, giving each woman half. But the real mother stepped forward, willing to give up her child rather than see him harmed. And that is the lesson I see in parental alienation. A parent who deliberately alienates a child may be so consumed with winning, maintaining control, and protecting their own image that they’re willing to destroy the child’s relationship with the other parent. The loving parent, meanwhile, may be willing to sacrifice everything to protect their child from further harm. Because genuine parental love isn’t about winning. It’s about the well-being of the child. A parent who knowingly uses their child as a weapon is putting their own needs above that child’s emotional well-being. King Solomon understood something thousands of years ago that we desperately need to remember today: True love protects the child.
