He wasn’t just black, and I say this because I thought we were all black until I too got bullied in a NYC public school, FOR BEING AFRICAN. I was called all types of names, down to Ebola. AND IT WAS AFRICAN AMERICANS WHO BULLIED ME!!! Constantly. Over and over!! This innocent child is dead. Death is irreversible!! He was 15 with a dream and family. What did we Africans ever do to yall?? Why were black Americans my first experience of racism in a predominantly black school?? I really want to know why? And I can’t emphasize it enough, but if you aren’t from ny I’ll say this. Bronx public schools are predominantly black bro. Fun issues have all been an issue I swear

Africans LOVE Black Americans. Yes there are a few that have a bad view about black Americans d/t their own experience or propaganda but majority of Africans love Black Americans. We need to stand together bc we are all BLACK. Thank you for this sis❤️

African parents, please listen when your children tell you they are being bullied! Don’t dismiss their fears or tell them to “toughen up.” Bullying can come from anyone, including white and African American peers. School grounds can become dangerous when teachers look the other way. Take your children seriously, speak up, and demand that their schools protect them. If the school fails to act, move them to a safer school. Your children’s safety comes first!

no one talks about how bullying really affects your mental being as a kid and the fact that he endured that before his death is what upsets me even more

I’ve had the same experience in the 4th grade with a Haitian boy who was born here but moved back to Haiti then relocated to the states permanently. I helped him and told everyone who would bully him that I couldn’t wait until he learned English so he could stand up for himself. I too was bullied for my skin color as a first gen Jamaican to immigrant parents.
