@spiralstudio.com: reading human life through nature.🌸 today's lesson: the orchid and what it can teach us about attraction. i've been thinking about how easy it is to fall in love with someone's potential rather than who they actually are. some orchids attract insects by imitating a mate that isn't really there. the attraction is real, but what the insect believes it's found isn't. sometimes i think we do something similar in love. we become so invested in understanding why someone can't love us that we forget to ask whether they're actually loving us. perhaps the most important question isn't who someone could become, but whether we'd still choose the person they're showing us today. most of the time our feelings are real, even when the relationship we're imagining isn't. spiral studio
