@nicole_nathern_hedrick: Stop letting activist influencers manipulate facts to keep you outraged. 🛑 While progressive commentators scream that the Department of Education's new Earnings Accountability Rule is an "attack on women," the data tells a completely different story. This policy holds universities accountable, forcing predatory institutions to lower tuition costs instead of trapping students in six figures of unpayable debt. It introduces free-market sanity and protects your wallet from billionaire university endowments. In this video, we break down: • The Math: Actual IRS metrics showing the real economic impact. • The Clock: The official implementation timeline. • The Reality: The real-world economic shifts happening right now. Watch the full breakdown to find out who this rule actually protects. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! 👇 #StudentLoans #HigherEducation #FactCheck

I love that our country is being run by a businessman. I didn’t get much federal funding for my degree either because a BA in psych has very little return financially, and that was a lesson I had to learn the hard way. 👌🏽

The most important point, in my opinion, is universities can still offer those classes and people can still take them, but they can’t use taxpayer money to pay for those courses.

Most of those are 2 year community college degrees (some are only certifications) that are very inexpensive to pay for.

The Federal government should never have gotten into the lending business. All funds used for Federal loans are taken as tax from working people and given out as interest bearing debt. Higher education has used this Federal money to boost their tuition because it was guaranteed income for their products. If the degree is not worth what the market salary can bear then that is a predatory program. Banks could provide loans for degree or certificate programs but that money is not guaranteed like a Federal loan is. The Constitution never granted the Government the responsibility of lending, controlling education, or setting market conditions used to determine how much a degree or certificate program is worth. The government is bloated with entirely too much administrative burden. Education before the Department of Education was handled by the states . Universities have tuition and endowments to cover the programs. Federal tax dollars should not be used for higher education because that is a choice to seek a degree. The degree should charge what the education is worth in the market. Using guaranteed money to pad the schools budget is blatant misuse of that money.

If you look at the list, you will see that most of those careers, the person will not stay in that field, and move on to another field in the same list. I owned cosmetology schools for more than 35 years, and fought to keep the student loan program out of the field. Most students, either used the funds to, buy personal items, partying, trips, cars, but not their education, or they got the loan, and disappeared. If you are vested in your education, you will take it more seriously.

Looking at this list, how many will grant the people legit jobs? I have a degree in Graphic design myself, and the market might aswell be non existing today. All people need to do is AI them a new logo, or book cover.

Yall gotta remember that most of these courses only cost so much due to the university you are attending. If you wanna get these degrees, GO FOR IT, just don’t expect federal funding. You can absolutely still get these if you REALLY want to. I’d say, go be great and try to achieve something anyway

Johnson & Wales loved to tout “JWU features a 100% participation rate in experiential education and a 92.3% career outcomes rate.” —But, they don’t actually mean “Great career outcomes.” During the survey, they found people joined the military to pay the $20K+/yr debt. Most who left for jobs found themselves in (on average) $38K/yr jobs. —This metric is why that plan is NEEDED. Too many schools offer unnecessary classes that sound fun and give you higher loans (more profit for schools) but less incentive for them to put you on a degree path that pays well.
