USCG is every six months OR upon arrival in the US. So if you’re on a sailing that embarks the same day a ship is debarking from a repositioning sailing that originated outside of the US, it’s a very safe bet they’ll have USCG that day and boarding will be delayed.

I sailed on the Majesty of the Seas years ago. A Coast Guard inspection delayed departure over 24 hours!!! It was a nightmare! We boarded. No casino or shops. They gave free drinks to everyone, which made people who paid for drink packages furious. Everyone was mad. A ship full of drunk angry people. We missed a port. No credit of any kind given

Left Wonder this morning! Haven’t had that happen yet, but we have two last cruises from Miami. Then we have vowed to cut off Miami cruises. This happened to us with NCL! It was almost 3 hours we had to wait 😅
