I’ve had this too after losing my mum. Make sure you’re getting lots of vitamins, try and eat healthily and it will grow back I promise. The fact that you’re at this stage means it’s already at regrowth. Think of everytime it falls it’s because new is coming through. For ponytails look for loose hair fibres. It’s a spray and will just fill in the thin patches for now while it grows.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've looked into a mesh system but the cost (£3000) and the maintenance put me off so I've got wigs. Trouble is, I'm just not brave enough to wear them out! But they ARE fab! I have about 9 just stashed in my cupboard just need the balls to crack on with them!

I use the L’Oréal root spray and that really helps on my thinning hair

please give headband wigs a go ❤️I've been wearing them for 6 years now and counting. My hair is just too thin to wear in public after hairloss. I'm so used to it now. People are surprised when I say that it's a wig. Im wearing a wig in all of my videos on here if you want to see

Hi lovely. I’ve dealt with hair loss like this. Mine is so much worse now but I use Maine hairspray and it’s been a lifesaver. It’s the only way I can go out without a hat on. It will cover these areas for you and give you a little bit of confidence back but obviously won’t solve the underlying problem. Give it a wee try, it’s the best thing that was ever recommended to me. Sending hugs your way 🩷

@Vivienne: Carly have you heard of hair integration systems? I’ve seen videos of men and woman getting them when they have thinning hair. They look amazing and there hair grows underneath x

I suffered quite extreme hair loss in the past, it's horrible 💔 have you considered wigs at all? There are so many good ones these days, even hair toppers that you just put on top!

Mine went like this after loosing my son and I usually have hair enough for 3 so I can understand how you feel lovely it’s a horrid feeling. I used the hair and me serum which made the front bits grow back on in and I have been using the VOY hair loss treatment and it’s night and day the difference. Hope you find something that helps sending you lots of love ❤️❤️

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I also went through bad hair loss at the beginning of 2025, mine was diet & stress related. My hair looked very similar to yours. I started using minoxidil because nothing I tried worked and 18 months later, it finally looks ok. My advice would he a hair topper if you can stretch to it, just whilst yours grows back, it’s a game changer and will make you feel like you again. I washed my hair every day, and pulled it back dry, as my scalp wasn’t so obvious when it was dry. I used texture powder to ‘fluff’ it up before I put it up and also fibre powder to fill the gaps. I also bought 4 baseball caps, in different colours and wore them pretty much every day when I was out and about. I started taking iron and pumpkin seed oil (helps stop the hair shedding) and tried to eat at least 50g protein a day. I just wanted you to know I know how hard it can be with hair struggles, it will get better, it just takes time x

My friend had this and has had a lot of progress. The changes she made with were no heat (hairdryer or straighteners) nioxin products, aussie leave in conditioner, WOW products and never pull it tight (use very loose hold hairspray) if any. also see a dr, as it might be a wee tweak needed by a health professionalwith regards to hormones, vitmains etc. thought id send in case these are things you haven't tried xxxx
