Non-compete agreements are almost universally unenforceable. The only thing I WOULD do is make sure you don’t directly influence ANY previous clients to change over to your new company from the old one. You cannot directly steal clients, that might be an issue. But other than that I ignore non-compete agreements. I’ve been threatened once and nothing ever came of it.

Dang this sucks, I didn’t have a non-compete but I had signed an agreement saying I can’t poach any previous clients. Which i definitely wouldn’t do anyways bc I don’t really like RE media anyways

If it is not in the contract, they legally have no stance against you. They can only justify what was laid out and signed for in the contract.

ummm. it has been a while since I study this so verify my information. but there is no such thing as a non compete for someone on a 10-99. especially after no longer doing business with them. you are your own company and they cannot stop you.

Contact your local dol and an employment lawyer. Non competes are not always enforceable. They likely have no standing to call in on a non compete…

As a business owner, I’d do it and tell the other company to EAD if they reach out. And if they do press you, put them on blast. Social media is a powerful tool. You’re likely losing more not taking the risk than you would be doing it.

Create your own LLC and make that LLC work! 😏 if directors and actors can use fake names to work on non union shows i think you can get to do the same! Also if you are in a right to work state that agreement is nothing but a paper you can wipe your behind with
