🤔 Did the journal testimony help either side? Ever since this trial began, I’ve been waiting to hear Lindsey Clancy’s journals. I honestly thought they might be the piece of evidence that finally changed my perspective. They didn’t. We know Lindsey Clancy caused the deaths of her three children. The question the jury must answer is why—and whether she was legally insane at the time. The defense argues the journals support their claim that Lindsey was suffering from postpartum psychosis. The entries described a woman who felt overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, disconnected, like she was failing as a mother, struggling with insomnia, desperate for help, and wanting to get well. Those words are heartbreaking. But for me… they didn’t change my opinion. Maybe others will disagree, but I don’t read those journal entries and immediately think, “This proves postpartum psychosis.” As a mom, those entries felt incredibly relatable. I think many mothers have felt overwhelmed, exhausted, like they’re failing, wondering if they’re doing enough, or questioning every decision they’ve made. To me, those emotions alone don’t answer the legal question the jury has to decide. I also kept thinking about Lindsey’s profession. As a labor and delivery nurse, paying close attention to feeding schedules, sleep, diapers, milestones, and routines doesn’t seem all that unusual to me. Nurses are trained to notice details, so that part of the journals didn’t stand out to me as evidence of psychosis. Now, before anyone comes for me… this next part is purely my opinion. My gut keeps coming back to Patrick. I can’t shake the feeling that this may have been about causing him the greatest pain imaginable by taking away everything he loved. That has not been proven in court, and it isn’t the prosecution’s theory. It’s simply where my mind keeps going as I listen to the evidence. So I’ll ask the same question I started with… Did the journal testimony change your opinion at all? Or are you, like me, still waiting for that one piece of evidence that finally makes it all make sense? 🎥 Mortgage by day, true crime nerd by night—one pays the bills… the other feeds my curiosity. #LindseyClancy #TrueCrime #Courtroom #TrialCoverage #Justice
